Study Strategies
1. Read over notes/study guide each evening.
2. Rewrite notes on lined paper/index cards using colored pencils.
3. Have someone read the notes to you as you read the notes silently to yourself.
4. Use mnemonics to help you remember specific information. For example, to remember the visible light spectrum use Roy G. Biv (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet).
5. Make up songs that help you remember information. Example: Multiplication Rap
6. Remember - During a study period, your brain remembers the most during the first few minutes and last few minutes of your study time. After you have studied for 15 minutes quiz yourself, then take a short break.
7. After studying, have a brother, sister, parent, or guardian quiz you.
8. On the day of your test you should review the chapter and all study materials in the morning.
9. Make up your own quiz using your notes and textbook. After you study, take the quiz and see
how you do! Go back and study any areas you are having trouble with.
